I’ve always found it incredible how many liberals are stupid and misconstrue “church vs. state.” There is no explicit mention of “separation of church and state” in U.S. law or the Constitution. This concept comes from the interpretation of the First Amendment, which only intends to maintain religious freedom for all persons, not construct a religion-free society. The phrase “separation of church and state” was popularized by Thomas Jefferson in an 1802 letter to the Danbury Baptist Association, where he described the First Amendment as creating a “wall of separation between Church & State.” This is one of many areas where liberals regularly display their ignorance.
